My interest in acupuncture came about following my daughter’s successful treatment for severe hay fever and asthma with acupuncture when she was nine. During the hay fever season, these conditions prevented her from spending more than half-an-hour outside in the sun before she would come back inside with eyes swollen and chest wheezing. Following a recommendation from a friend, I decided acupuncture was worth a try.
Initially I was somewhat sceptical about how acupuncture could help her, however, within 2-3 sessions my daughter’s condition had improved considerably and the following year’s hay fever season saw her outside and playing with her friends with minimal ill-effect.
I then started having acupuncture to help me through a difficult time in my life and it gave me the support I needed to weather the storm.
So began my fascination for this ancient holistic healthcare system and a journey which has taken me from patient to practitioner.
